1The Lord God said to Noah, “Enter the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen you righteous before Me in this generation.
2Bring to yourself seven by seven of the clean livestock, male and female, and two by two of the livestock that are not clean, male and female;
3and seven by seven of the clean birds of the sky, male and female, and two by two of the birds that are not clean, male and female, to sustain offspring upon all the earth.
4For in seven more days I am bringing rain upon the earth for forty days and forty nights, and will wipe away everything that rises up, which I have made, from the face of the earth.â€
5Noah did all that the Lord God commanded him.
6Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of water came upon the earth.
7Noah, his sons, his wife, and his sons’ wives with him entered the ark because of the water of the flood.
8From the birds, the clean livestock, the livestock that were not clean, and all the creeping things upon the earth,
9they entered two by two to Noah into the ark, male and female, as God commanded him.
10After the seven days, the water of the flood came upon the earth.
11In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, on that day all the springs of the abyss burst open, and the floodgates of heaven were opened.
12Rain fell upon the earth for forty days and forty nights.
13On that day Noah entered the ark, with Shem, Ham, and Japheth, Noah’s sons, and Noah’s wife, and his sons’ three wives with him.
14And all the wild animals according to kind, all the livestock according to kind, every creeping thing moving upon the earth according to kind, and every bird according to kind
15entered to Noah into the ark, two by two from all flesh in which is a spirit of life.
16Those entering, male and female of all flesh, entered as God commanded Noah; and the Lord God closed the ark from outside him.
17The flood was upon the earth forty days and forty nights. The water increased and lifted the ark, and it rose above the earth.
18The water prevailed and increased greatly upon the earth, and the ark was carried upon the water.
19The water prevailed very, very greatly upon the earth and covered all the high mountains under heaven.
20The water rose fifteen cubits above and covered all the high mountains.
21All flesh moving upon the earth died: birds, livestock, wild animals, every creeping thing moving upon the earth, and every human.
22Everything that had a breath of life, and all that was upon the dry land, died.
23He wiped away everything standing upon the face of all the earth, from human beings to livestock, creeping things, and birds of the sky. They were wiped away from the earth; only Noah remained, and those with him in the ark.
24The water remained high upon the earth one hundred and fifty days.
