1After these things Jesus revealed Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, and He revealed Himself in this way.

2Simon Peter and Thomas, who was called Didymus, and Nathanael from Cana of Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples were together.

3Simon Peter says to them, “I am going fishing.” They say to him, “We also are coming with you.” They went out and got into the boat, and during that night they caught nothing.

4But when morning had already come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.

5Then Jesus says to them, “Children, you do not have any fish to eat, do you?” They answered Him, “No.”

6And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast it, and were no longer strong enough to draw it in because of the multitude of fish.

7Then that disciple whom Jesus loved says to Peter, “It is the Lord.” So Simon Peter, hearing that it is the Lord, girded his outer garment around himself—for he was naked—and threw himself into the sea.

8But the other disciples came in the little boat, dragging the net of fish, for they were not far from the land, but about two hundred cubits away.

9So when they got out onto the land, they see a charcoal fire laid there, and fish lying on it, and bread.

10Jesus says to them, “Bring some of the fish that you have just caught.”

11So Simon Peter went up and drew the net onto the land, full of large fish, a hundred and fifty-three; and though there were so many, the net was not torn.

12Jesus says to them, “Come, have breakfast.” But none of the disciples dared to question Him, “Who are You?” knowing that it was the Lord.

13Jesus comes and takes the bread and gives it to them, and the fish likewise.

14This was now the third time Jesus was revealed to the disciples after being raised from the dead.

15So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus says to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?” He says to Him, “Yes, Lord, You know that I love You.” He says to him, “Feed My lambs.”

16He says to him again a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” He says to Him, “Yes, Lord, You know that I love You.” He says to him, “Shepherd My sheep.”

17He says to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus says to him, “Feed My sheep.

18Amen, amen, I say to you: when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish.”

19Now He said this to indicate by what kind of death he would glorify God. And having said this, He says to him, “Follow Me.”

20Turning, Peter sees the disciple whom Jesus loved following, the one who also leaned back at the supper upon His chest and said, “Lord, who is the one handing You over?”

21So Peter, seeing him, says to Jesus, “Lord, and what about this man?”

22Jesus says to him, “If I wish him to remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow Me.”

23So this word went out among the brothers, that this disciple does not die. But Jesus did not say to him that he does not die, but, “If I wish him to remain until I come, what is that to you?”

24This is the disciple who bears witness about these things and who wrote these things; and we know that his testimony is true.

25And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which, if each one were written, I suppose that even the world itself would not contain the books being written.
