On the eighth day Moses called Aaron, his sons, and Israel’s council of elders.
Moses said to Aaron: Take for yourself a calf from the cattle for sin and a ram for a whole burnt offering, both unblemished, and present them before the Lord.
Speak to Israel’s council of elders, saying: Take one male kid from the goats for sin, and a calf and a year-old lamb, unblemished, for a whole offering,
and a calf and a ram for a sacrifice of deliverance before the Lord, and fine flour mixed with oil, for today the Lord will appear among you.
They brought what Moses commanded opposite the Tent of Testimony, and the whole congregation drew near and stood before the Lord.
Moses said: Do this thing that the Lord said, and the Lord’s glory will appear among you.
Moses said to Aaron: Draw near to the altar, prepare your offering for sin and your whole burnt offering, and make propitiation for yourself and your household. Prepare the people’s gifts and make propitiation for them, as the Lord commanded Moses.
Aaron drew near to the altar and slaughtered the calf for the sin offering.
Aaron’s sons brought the blood to him. He dipped his finger in the blood, put it on the altar’s horns, and poured the blood at the altar’s base.
He offered up the fat, the kidneys, and the lobe of the liver of the sin offering on the altar, as the Lord commanded Moses.
He burned up the meat and hide with fire outside the camp.
He slaughtered the whole burnt offering. Aaron’s sons brought him the blood, and he poured it all around against the altar.
They brought him the whole burnt offering limb by limb, the parts and the head, and he placed them on the altar.
He washed the belly and feet with water and placed them upon the whole burnt offering on the altar.
They presented the people’s gift, and he took the male kid for the people’s sin offering and slaughtered it as he had the first.
He presented the whole burnt offering and prepared it as was fitting.
He presented the sacrifice, filled his hands with some of it, and placed it on the altar, apart from the morning whole burnt offering.
He slaughtered the calf and ram of the people’s sacrifice of deliverance. Aaron’s sons brought him the blood, and he poured it all around against the altar.
The fat from the calf and ram—the loin, the fat covering the belly, the two kidneys and the fat on them, and the lobe on the liver—
he placed on the breasts, and they offered up the fat on the altar.
Aaron removed the breast and the right foreleg as a portion set apart before the Lord, as the Lord directed Moses.
Aaron lifted his hands over the people and blessed them. He came down after preparing the offering for sin, the whole burnt offerings, and the deliverance offerings.
Moses and Aaron entered the Tent of Testimony. They came out and blessed all the people, and the Lord’s glory appeared to all the people.
Fire came out from the Lord and consumed what was on the altar, both the whole burnt offerings and the fat. All the people saw, were astonished, and fell on their faces.
