The Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
“Command the Israelites and say to them: You are entering the land of Canaan. This shall be your inheritance, the land of Canaan with its boundaries.
Your southwestern side shall run from the wilderness of Sin to the territory adjoining Edom. Your southwestern boundary shall begin from the part of the Salt Sea toward the east.
The boundary shall turn around you from the southwest toward the Ascent of Akrabin and pass through Senna. Its endpoint shall be southwest of Kadesh-barnea; it shall extend to the settlement of Arad and pass through Azmon.
The boundary shall turn from Azmon to the Wadi of Egypt, and its endpoint shall be the sea.
For your sea boundary, the Great Sea shall mark the limit. This shall be your sea boundary.
This shall be your northern boundary: from the Great Sea measure out for yourselves a line beside the mountain, the mountain.
From the mountain, the mountain, measure out for them a line toward the entrance to Hamath, and its endpoint shall be the boundaries of Sarada.
The boundary shall extend to Dephrona, and its endpoint shall be Hazar-enan. This shall be your northern boundary.
Measure out for yourselves the eastern boundary from Hazar-enan to Shepham.
The boundary shall descend from Shepham to Arbela, from the east toward the springs. The boundary shall descend to Bela, along the eastern ridge of the Sea of Chennara.
The boundary shall descend to the Jordan, and its endpoint shall be the Salt Sea. This shall be your land and its surrounding boundaries.â€
Moses commanded the Israelites, saying, “This is the land that you shall inherit by lot, as the Lord prescribed to Moses to give to the nine tribes and the half-tribe of Manasseh.
For the tribe of the Reubenites and the tribe of the Gadites according to their ancestral houses, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, have received their allotments.
The two tribes and the half-tribe have received their allotments across the Jordan opposite Jericho, from the south toward the east.â€
The Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
“These are the names of the men who shall obtain the land as an inheritance for you: Eleazar the priest and Joshua son of Nun.
Take one ruler from each tribe to allot the land to you.
These are the names of the men: from the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Jephunneh;
from the tribe of Simeon, Salamiel son of Ammihud;
from the tribe of Benjamin, Eldad son of Chislon;
from the tribe of Dan, the ruler Bakchir son of Egli;
from the descendants of Joseph, from the tribe of the Manassites, the ruler Hanniel son of Ouphi;
from the tribe of the Ephraimites, the ruler Kemuel son of Sabatha;
from the tribe of Zebulun, the ruler Elizaphan son of Parnach;
from the tribe of the Issacharites, the ruler Paltiel son of Oza;
from the tribe of the Asherites, the ruler Achior son of Shelomi;
from the tribe of Naphtali, the ruler Pedahel son of Benammihud.â€
These are the men whom the Lord commanded to distribute portions to the Israelites in the land of Canaan.
